The System…

The System is a unique tuition system developed by Learner Driving Centres, and has been designed to provide pupils with all the information they need to learn to drive in a structured way.

As a member of the franchise, I am trained to use this great system.

-How does The System work?

The system is based around The Driving Skills DVD-Rom and Workbook, which are specially designed for you to learn the theory at home so that you spend more time driving during your lessons instead of listening to me giving you a full lesson brief.

The system is designed to follow the four steps illustrated below:

Step 1

Watch your next lesson on The LDC Driving Skills DVD-Rom in the comfort of your own home.

Step 2

Check your understanding of the topic by doing a simple quiz in The LDC Driving Skills Workbook.

Step 3

Put the theory of what you've learnt into practice during your next driving lesson.

Step 4

Mark off and monitor your progress using the Lesson Targets supplied in The LDC Driving Skills Workbook.

-What does The System cover?

The system covers everything you need to know to become a safe driver, with the lessons carefully split split down into four key areas. These four key areas are structured to take you from the very basics of getting the car moving to the manoeuvres you'll need for your test and beyond.

The key areas are broken down into the following parts and lessons:

Part 1 - Basic Control Skills:

The topics contained in this part of The System are intended to give you the basic control skills needed to drive safely. For anyone who hasn't driven before, this is the starting point, and the lessons covered in this part are:

	Lesson 1 - Getting Moving
	Lesson 2 - Gears
	Lesson 3 - Steering
	Lesson 4 - Co-ordination
	Lesson 5 - The Emergency Stop

Part 2 - Road Skills:

Once you've mastered the lessons of Part 1, you'll need to learn how to cope with modern road systems. Part 2 will cover the following topics:

	Lesson 6 - Hazard Drill & Junctions
	Lesson 7 - Crossroads
	Lesson 8 - Dealing with busier junctions
	Lesson 9 - Roundabouts
	Lesson 10 - Traffic signals & Pedestrian Crossings

Part 3 - Traffic Skills:

Having mastered the basic control and road skills, the next part of The System will teach you how to apply your new skills to a wide range of traffic conditions and situations in the following lessons:

	Lesson 11 - Hazard perception and defensive driving
	Lesson 12 - Dual Carriageways
	Lesson 13 - Town and City Centre driving
	Lesson 14 - Progressive driving
	Lesson 15 - The driving test

Part 4 - Manoeuvres:

Although this set of lessons has the heading of "Part 4", in reality these lessons can be (and often are) introduced once a pupil has mastered Lesson 4.

	Manoeuvres 1 - Straight line reversing
	Manoeuvres 2 - Reversing to the left
	Manoeuvres 3 - Reversing to the right
	Manoeuvres 4 - Turn in the road
	Manoeuvres 5 - Reverse parking

-What are the benefits of The System?

This system has been developed over many years by Learner Driving Centres, and has been especially developed to provide all the skills needed for a lifetime of safe driving.

The system itself is structured to provide a planned progression extending from your first driving lesson right the way through to having all the skills for your driving test and beyond.

An easy to follow progress monitoring system to keep you on track

The Driving Skills Workbook contains a record for each topic covered by this system, and can be updated at the end of each driving lesson. This monitoring system will allow the pupil to exactly what stage they are at and what's left to cover in future lessons.

Many parents also appreciate this feature, as they can see what progress is being made during lessons and what they're paying for.

Accelerated learning that is fun

Using the Driving Skills DVD-Roms and Workbook, pupils learn the theory on a new topic before their driving lesson. This in turn reduces the amount of time the instructor has to take with lesson briefings during the lesson, resulting in the pupils spending more time actually putting the theory into practice.

On traditional driving lessons, around 20 minutes per lesson is generally spent parked at the side of the road while the instructor explains the detail of a new topic. With The System, a short question and answer session at the beginning of the lesson is all that's needed to ensure the pupil understands the theory for a new topic.

The time saved using this system can make substantial cost savings compared to other driving school lessons.

An aid to supplementary practice with friends or family

The Driving Skills Workbook and DVD-Roms can also be used by anyone who may be providing you with supplementary practice to ensure that any additional practice is totally complementary and not counter productive to your learning.
