LEARNER DRIVING CENTRES

    Pass Plus…

Congratulations!  You have now passed your driving test!  As a newly qualified driver you can drive unsupervised but you are still vulnerable as you lack on-road experience. To help with this I would recommend that you complete the ’Pass Plus’ course.

The ’Pass Plus’ course was designed by the DSA, driving instructors and motor insurance companies to give newly qualified drivers ways of developing their skills with the help of a trained road safety professional.

The course is a minimum of six hours, and is divided up into 6 modules:

  Town Driving

  All weather driving

Out of town driving and rural roads

  Night driving

  Dual carriageways

  Motorways

After each module you will be assessed and graded either (A) achieved or (E) excelled dependant on your performance in that module. As mentioned earlier the course lasts a minimum of six hours, of which five and half must be practical training sessions. Each module is a practical session. The theory session will only be conducted when a practical session is not practical (e.g. weather or road and traffic conditions).

The maximum level that can be achieved on a theory session is (A) Achieved.

After successfully completing the course, the completed training record is sent to the DSA who will send you a Pass Plus completion certificate.

The certificate will allow you to apply for a discount on your insurance premiums.

For more information or to request an information booklet, please drop me an email asking about the Pass Plus Course.
